Capa da Time quando vc nasceu!

De vez em quando a gente acha cada coisa interessante na internet! A maioria das vezes, coisa que nem estamos procurando, mas acontece por acaso. Se você é que nem eu e adora ler uma curiosidade, vai lá e acaba spending time on something completely different from what we were looking for. Anyway, estava eu tentando achar o logo da revista TIME prontinho pra usar em um design quando achei uma parada que mostra a capa da revista na data do nosso aniversário (ou semana). Interessante ver os headlines da época.

No meu caso, a capa da revista da semana era meio horrorosa - talvez bonita pra época - e tinha lá um cara que nunca ouvi falar "Andrei Sakarov"... No birthday do Wagner tava lá o papa como "Superstar" (ah coitado! Jesus que é superstar porque ressuscitou da morte!), e no 4th of July de 1981 a capa era sobre o perigo da "Cocaine"...

Steven Curtis Chapman's daughter killed

DEUS É SOBERANO. Algumas coisas a gente não precisa tentar entender, apenas descansar nosso pensamento na afirmativa que Deus está no controle.

Hoje pela manhã a notícia quebrou meu coração. Tava ouvindo a K-Love (radio station) e derrepente fiquei chocada, parada triste pensando no que acabara de saber. Steve Curtis Chapman não é alguém que eu tenha conhecido pessoalmente. É sim, um dos meus artistas - cantor - preferidos e mais do que isso, um irmão em Cristo que tragicamente perdeu ontem sua filhinha de apenas 5 anos. Era a caçula da família e do mesmo modo que duas de suas irmãs mais velhas, foi adotada da China. Jesus então resolveu "take her home" na tarde de quarta, quando foi inexplicavelmente atropelada por seu irmão no quintal de casa e não resistiu aos ferimentos. Coube ao Senhor levá-la.

I can't imagine the pain... Specially for this daddy that loves his kids so much (who doesn't?). Mas Steven traduziu esse amor pelas filhas de maneira especial. Escreveu um livro chamado "Cinderella - The Love of Daddy and his princess", e uma das músicas mais lindas que já ouvi que leva o mesmo nome... "Cinderella". A primeira vez que ouvi me arrepiei. Agora, ouvi-la would be too hard. O slideshow que estava preparando usando a musica e fotos da Joy... I'm afraid I won't open the file again.

Basta pra mim nesse momento, saber da soberania de Deus. Confiar e apesar dessa família nem saber quem sou, orar para que o Senhor os dê forças. Nunca com minha limitação conseguiria decifrar o por quê disso acontecer com um servo dele...que ama tanto suas filhas, que faz campanhas de conscientização para adoção de crianças... Um homem que escreveu essa música linda e agora perde uma de suas princesas. Why God? Why???

Because He is Sovereign.
Because He is NEVER taken by surprise.
Because He is in control.

God of This City

Sometimes I wish I had never give up on my piano classes.

I love music but I wonder if I would be a good musician. I can play a little piano and even had tried to learn the guitar before... thought it was way to hard. The hands position, the short nails...nnnuh... not for me! Anyway, listen to music always inspires me to write. It brings my imagination to full speed and I start to create, wonder, see beyond. I also noticed how it makes me stop everything I'm doing and sit here to share.

This time, I was listening to an online radio station and the song come up. They were interviewing Chris Tomlin, the author of "How Great is Our God" (love it!) and he was asked about his favorite song at the moment. He answered "-Definitely, GOD OF THIS CITY". A song that he said was special because the story behind. His band was playing on a show in Africa (Passion Tour) and then during his ministration between songs, he suddenly started to feel so much love for that people that came to worship God with no restrictions, with hearts as one. He felt how the Lord loved them so much more; how He loved that city and that nation. So the lyrics came direct from the heaven and in tears he sang it for the first time.

I can imagine that moment. I wish I was there too! After he told the story, they played the song and I understood why it made to his favorites. It is just beautiful and I specially love this part: "You're the love to the broken..." It gave me goose bumps and right away I started making my phone calls with "let's do this and that"... I want to use the song for something special... Culto de Missoes? Who knows? Maybe we can do a video presentation and have it as it's soundtrack...
